After a personal local appointment and some work in my Tewkesbury office, I travelled to London and spent much of the day on letters and emails. I also had a meeting of the Liaison Committee to attend. then I met people from Bristol and the West of England at a reception.
I did a phone survey in aid of Unicef and then carried out much paperwork. I held a business meeting then attended the Flood Prevention Group AGM, at which I was re-elected Vice Chairman. We plan to hold a number of meetings all designed to help in the fight against flooding. After that I met many people from the energy industry.
I held a meeting with the Clerk of the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee and then another business meeting. I then hosted a lunch on behalf of the Conservative Africa Business Group, which I chair. Our guest on this occasion was the Ambassador from Angola. I then travelled back to Tewkesbury in the evening.

A busy day. I attended a meeting with the police at Waterwells, Quedgeley. Following this, I attended Jennings, the rug shop in Tewkesbury, who were celebrating their 60th anniversary. They did it in style - with three camels! Inside, unbeknown to many, a belly dancer then entertained the guests. All very interesting for my work experience pupil! I then visited Clarkson Evans at Churchdown to discuss their business and then Injection Mouldings at Staverton. After a quick change, I attended an event at Stanton and then met some people in my local village.
We had our charity cricket match in Twyning, in aid of Everyman, which helps people with mens' cancers. The event was partly sponsored by Ladbrokes and the Tote. Unlike last year, I managed to get through the day without injuring myself.
I mainly took the day off and had a round of golf. It was slightly blustery but not too bad.
